And we're back!

After many weeks of technical difficulties the HANDS program is back online!  Just in time to finish off the school year.  There is so much to say...

Anti-Bullying & Violence Unit -
As a culminating event to our studies please join us at the Taos Academy to see our class quilt on April 28th 5-7pm.
Thanks to Taos Academy for inviting the HANDS program to join in their anti-violence campaign, CAV, MEN, Taos Police, Melissa Larson from Wholly Rags, Mel Valdez and all the guest speakers and volunteers!

The Greenhouse -
Got mill plastic?  All we need to finish our hoop house project is some mill plastic.  Please let Ms. McP know if you have some to spare.

The Play -
Get your costumes ready for Friday's dress rehearsal.  We only have a couple weeks left before our performance! Togas, sheets, whatever it may take.  Please let Ms. McP know if you need help with your costume.

Carlsbad Caverns -
  • Volunteers: Parents and family members who would like to chaperone, please stop by the Central Administration Building (213 Paseo del Canon East) to get a background check done.  All volunteers must have one done before the trip.
  • Camping Supplies:  If your family has a tent they are willing to lend out for the camping trip, please let Ms. McP know. Start collecting items you will need such as s flashlight or head lamp, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, swimsuits, layered clothing (it will be very hot during the day and chilly at night), hiking shoes, etc.
Major Assignments -
  • Greek Mythology RAFT paper; 3-5 page report on your assigned myth rough draft was due on Thursday April 21
  • Book Club Books - Keep up with your questions and chapters for your assigned book
  • Spelling/Vocabulary - We are on list 23 that means only 2 lists left for the year! You can do it :)
  • Project CRISS Tough Terminators chapter 5 should be completed and chapter 6 up to page 50.
  • We will be finishing Prime Time CMP Book this 9 weeks.  Investigation 2 quiz will be next Wednesday. Don't forget to keep up with your Accelerated Math nightly assignments, too. Due to the technological difficulties I know students are behind in their goals.
  • MAP Testing will be the 2nd week of May.

Keep in touch!
