Egypt Immersion Day March 15th!
Get your Headdresses and gold out because its Ancient Egypt Day! Tomorrow 9:45-11:15 we will be preparing foods our Ancient Egyptian friends may have made. We will also wear costumes that represent the times. Students picked out recipes before break and should bring in items to prepare their own dish to share. I will be showing students how to make hummus and tiger nut sweets. While we eat our Egyptian delights, we will travel back in time with the National Geographic documentary "Egypt: Secrets of the Pharaohs."
Student-led Conferences March 25th
Please email me or call ASAP to schedule your student-led conference. Times are open from 8:00am to 2:30pm. If you would like to meet at a later time March 28-31 can be arranged with prior notice between 1:00pm and 4:30pm. Your conference will last no more than 20 minutes and I will be available for questions or comments and to schedule parent-student-teacher conferences if necessary. I will post a schedule on the blog as I get appointments. - Taos, New Mexico, United States
- My name is Hillary McPartlon. I am the teacher of the HANDS Program. H.A.N.D.S (Helping Academic Needs of Diverse Students) is a pilot program at Taos Middle School for 6th graders. It is designed for students who seek a challenging environment with a hands-on approach. Through multi-disciplinary learning, students will learn core academics, real-world challenges, and leadership skills. The HANDS Lab is for learners of all levels and backgrounds. The ultimate goal is to treat each student as an individual learner as part of a cooperative team.
